BALLARD - INFO
Alimi ("Ali-me") Ballard's credits are extensive and tell the tale of
a seasoned performer, and his presence has been felt on television,
stage and screen. His film credits include the upcoming 20th Century
Fox film "Men of Honor" starring Cuba Gooding Jr. and Robert DeNiro,
"Deep Impact," "Malcolm X," and "Three Days of Rain."
His television credits include roles on "Sabrina the Teenage Witch,"
"Arsenio," "New York Undercover" and "Malcolm and Eddie." He also has
been recognized for his portrayal of the troubled Frankie Hubbard, on
the daytime drama "Loving." Ballard's first television role was as co-host
of "In the Mix," the public television teen awareness show done in news
magazine style with MTV flavor.
Because of his godfather's urging, Ballard joined MindBuilders, a local
New York community center dedicated to the empowerment of youth, and
was cast in a play called "No Laughing Matter." Weeks later, he found
himself touring New York's inner-city libraries, community centers and
elementary and high schools. He soon set his sights on a professional
career and came to perform with such notable theater companies as the
Manhattan Theater Club and the National Black Theater, were he starred
in acclaimed productions of "Holiday Heart" and "Endangered Species."
